Cannot Log In to Mega888 — Causes and Fixes
Mega888 saying wrong password, account locked, or login failing even with correct details? Six common causes and how to handle each — including multi-device logins and expired test IDs.
What you see
The app opens normally but the login fails — it either says the details are wrong, says the account is locked, or just spins without getting in.
Why it happens
Unlike a white screen, which is nearly always a network issue, a login failure usually comes from the account itself. The six causes below cover almost every case, and three of them you can resolve yourself without contacting anyone.
How to fix it
- Check capitalisation and trailing spaces. Mega888 passwords are case-sensitive, and phone keyboards often add a trailing space when you paste from WhatsApp. Type it manually once.
- Make sure you are logged out on other devices. An account logged in on two phones at once is often locked automatically as a security measure. This is the most common cause people do not realise.
- If the ID is locked after failed attempts, stop retrying — each additional attempt extends the lockout. Wait, and contact the admin on WhatsApp to have it released.
- If you forgot the password, do not register a new account. Contact the admin with your ID; creating a second account can get both locked under duplicate-account rules.
- If you are using a Test ID, remember it is a shared account — its password is rotated periodically and it will stop working. Ask for a fresh one rather than assuming it is broken.
- If every detail is correct and nothing is locked, check your app version (v2.4.1) and try switching DNS with the 1.1.1.1 app — the login server is sometimes blocked even when the app itself opens.
If that did not work
If the admin confirms your account is not locked and you still cannot get in, the app build is the likely problem. Uninstall it completely, reinstall v2.4.1 from this portal, and try once more. One thing that matters: never give your password to anyone who contacts you first — a legitimate admin will not ask for your password to unlock an account.
