Mega888 Stuck on Loading or Unable to Connect to the Server
Game stuck at 99%, the loading bar not moving, or an Unable to Connect to Server message? The causes and five steps to fix it, including when it is actually maintenance.
What you see
The app opens and you can log in, but a game sticks on the loading bar — often at 99% — or you get a message saying the connection to the server failed.
Why it happens
Sticking at 99% almost always means the game files have downloaded but the final handshake with the game server did not complete. It differs from a white screen: there the app cannot connect at all, here it connects halfway. The usual causes are a corrupted cache, DNS blocking on one specific game server, or genuine maintenance on the operator side.
How to fix it
- Try a different game first. This is the most useful diagnostic step and the one most often skipped. If another game opens fine, the problem is with that one game server, not your phone or account — wait and try again later.
- Fully close the app and reopen it. Swipe it out of the recent apps list, not just press Home. This clears the stalled half-open connection.
- Clear the app cache. Android: Settings > Apps > Mega888 > Storage > Clear Cache. Do not tap Clear Data — that wipes your login details too.
- Switch DNS with the 1.1.1.1 app. Telcos sometimes block a specific game server while the login server stays reachable, and that produces exactly this pattern.
- Swap between WiFi and mobile data. If it works on one network but not the other, you have confirmed it is a network block rather than an app problem.
If that did not work
If every game sticks on every network, it is most likely maintenance on the operator side and not something you can fix. Ask the admin on WhatsApp whether maintenance is running — that is a one-minute question to answer, and it saves you half an hour trying unrelated things.
